Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all participants, parents, and guardians involved with the Junior Kings Inline Roller Hockey Club.

1. Eligibility

  1. Participants must be aged between 4 and 17 years, or proficient at skating.
  2. Participation is open to all children, regardless of skill level, subject to parental/guardian consent.
    • It is required that parents/guardians of children participating remain within the sports hall at all times.
  3. Participants must register for Spond and complete the Safety Waiver & Consent Form prior to joining sessions.

2. Safety and Equipment

  1. Participants must wear the minimum required safety equipment at all times: helmet, gloves, and shin pads.
  2. Additional protective equipment (e.g., elbow pads, mouth guards) is strongly recommended.
  3. The club does not accept liability for injuries.

3. Volunteer-Led Coaching

  1. The club is run entirely by volunteers (also referred to as coaches).
  2. No coaches hold formal hockey coaching qualifications. Instruction focuses on fun, basic skill development, and safety.
  3. Parents/guardians acknowledge that supervision is provided by volunteers and may not be one-to-one.

4. Code of Conduct

  1. Participants must follow the instructions of coaches and volunteers.
  2. Respectful behaviour towards other players, volunteers, and venues is required at all times.
  3. Bullying, aggressive behaviour, or unsafe play may result in temporary or permanent suspension from the club.

5. Health & Medical

  1. Parents/guardians must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or special requirements.
  2. In emergencies, the club is authorised to seek medical treatment through NHS or emergency services.
  3. Participants must be medically fit to take part.

6. Liability

  1. Participation is at the participant’s own risk.
  2. To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, the club, volunteers, coaches, officials, and venue operators are not liable for injuries, loss, or damage, except where caused by negligence that cannot be excluded by law.

7. Photography & Media

  1. The club may take photographs or videos during sessions for promotional or internal use.
  2. Parents/guardians may opt out of photography by notifying the club in writing.

8. Participation Fees & Payment

  1. Participations fees will be requested before, during or after a session occurs.
  2. Fees are non-refundable except at the discretion of the committee in exceptional circumstances.
  3. Fees are to cover the costs of running the session. Hall hire, equipment and sundries.
  4. The intention of the session is not to profit. Any excess fees or funds will be saved centrally and reinvested into the club.

9. Amendments

  1. The club reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.
  2. Parents/guardians will be notified of any material changes.

10. Acceptance

By participating in the Junior Kings Inline Roller Hockey Club, parents/guardians and participants agree to these Terms and Conditions in full.
